Until almost the fifth century (of the Christian era), most people worshipped the sun. In the year 321, Constantine the Great ruled that the first day of the
week, 'The venerable day of the sun', should be a day of rest.

shield is also associated with this day.

Wednesday is the fourth day of the week. It is the day of Mercury. It is Woden's Day, from the Scandinavian Woden (Odin), God of Norse mythology, who was often called the All Father.

group metals, is associated with Wednesday.

Thursday is the fifth day of the week. This name comes from the
Middle English Thorsday, or Thursdaye.
Thor, the god of strength and thunder, defender and help in war, son
of Odin, is the counterpart of Jupiter or Jove. Thor is one of
twelve great Gods in mythology. It was
said that whenever Thor threw his hammer, the noise of thunder is heard through the heavens. He is the only God who cannot
cross from earth to heaven upon the rainbow, for he is so heavy and
powerful that the Gods fear it will break under his weight. Thursday was sacred to Thor.
The metal tin is associated with the thunderbolt of Jupiter (Zeus in

My thoughts on elements and directions have changed over the years.
Depending on where you live these symbols may not be the same.
A lot of times you find that North represents Earth, East represents Air,
South represents Fire, and West represents Water.
North is also supposedly the power point.
Of course, this will change depending on where you are and which tradition you may be following.
Well, after thinking and researching and thinking some more, I feel East is my power point.
Since the sun rises in the East I like to think of this as Fire- new beginnings and new energy to work with.
South, to me, is Water- the Gulf of Mexico is south of me.
West represents Earth because to my west there is lots of land,
and North is Air- I think of all that cold wind blowing down from Canada.
It makes sense to me to assign them this way. Of course, there are those who would disagree.
