Introduction to Numerology
Numerology is one of the easiest tools to understand and use. All you need is the birth date and the complete name to get started.
There are eleven numbers used in constructing numerology charts. These numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 22. The larger numbers are reduced by adding the digits together until the number is one of the core numbers. All you have to do is add the components of the larger number together (repeatedly, if necessary) until you get a single digit (or the "master" numbers 11 or 22). Each of these number represents different things, which will be explained as we go on.
Master number are the only exception to rule of reduction. The master numbers 11 and 22 are intensified versions of the single digit number they replace (2 and 4). These numbers suggest a potential for a high degree of learning and/or achievement very often in a more stressful environment.
The first part of numerology is the date of birth. This date, (mm/dd/yyyy), is used to determine what is called the Life Path Number. Be sure to use the the full year number. Here is an example: Say your birthday is May 24, 1969. This would break down to 0+5+2+4+1+9+6+9=36 So you reduce further and 3+6=9. Your life path number would be 9.
Now, what does it mean? The following is a small sample of what each number means:
1-- You have great potential to be a leader, so you may not be so good at following others. Or you may need to assert some independence, have courage, and stand up for yourself.
2--You are an extremely sensitive, balanced person who is generally fair and genuinely want the best for others. You are the master of compromise and of maintaining harmony in your environment. You are a creature of habit and routine, and you can be a packrat.
3--You are a sociable, creative person and most likely enjoy expressing this by painting, landscaping, crafts, writing, music, acting, or in some other art form. You are apt to be a happy, inspired person, and enjoy being around others who are similar to you. If you don't already creatively express yourself, then you need to start ASAP.
4--You are trustworthy, practical, loyal, dedicated, and down-to-earth- a great organizer and manager. You have strong will-power that is often mistaken for sheer stubbornness. Your sense of purpose and ability to get the job done can border on obsession. Chill out a little if you are stressing yourself out about details.
5--You are adventurous, versatile, and happy-go-lucky. You value your freedom and independence. You dislike routine and boring work, and you are not very good at staying with everyday tasks that must be finished on time. You are, however, a good communicator, and you know how to motivate people around you. Don't get too slack with the responsibilities life hands you.
6-- You feel that the most important thing in your life is the home, family and friends. You are generous, kind, compassionate, and understanding. You are idealistic and must feel useful to be happy, so you most likely have a strong sense of responsibility. Because of this you like to be involved in everything, and others may think you are being interfering, even if this is not your intention. Just don't take on too much responsibility because it can cause problems for you as well as others.
7--You are a peaceful and affectionate soul, but also rather reserved and analytical. Intellectual, scientific and studious, you prefer to arrive at your own independent conclusion. This is a very spiritual number and it often denotes a sort of spiritual wisdom that becomes apparent at a fairly early age. You need a good deal of quiet time to be with your own inner thoughts and dreams. You dislike crowds, noise and confusion. You are very thorough and complete in your work, the perfectionist who expects everyone else to be a meet a high standard of performance, too.
8--You are apt to be very independent, forceful, and competitive. Your routine is involved in practical, down-to-earth affairs, and there is relatively little time for dreams and visions. You want to use your ambitions, your organizational ability, and your efficient approach to carve a satisfying niche for yourself. Most of your concerns involve money and learning of the power that comes with its proper manipulation. This Life Path is perhaps the one that is the most concerned with and desirous of status, as an accompaniment to material success. Don't let the desire for power and status keep you from enjoying life.
9--You show compassion, generosity, and have a very humanitarian attitude. You have the ability to make friends very easily, as people are attracted to your magnetic, open personality. The desire to help others, especially the troubled or underprivileged, is strong. However, you are likely to frequently find yourself being used and let down by others, as your generosity is misused and abused.
The Destiny Number is your FULL BIRTH NAME numerical value is also reduced to a single digit number. Most authorities agree that the full birth name as recorded on your birth certificate is the name that must be used for all calculations involving name. Nicknames and changed names (including marriage name changes) do not change the importance of the name your parents gave you. The only exception would be if you were adopted, then you would use the name your adopted parents gave you. Letters and numbers are always the same. Here is a Destiny number example: Say the name on your birth certificate is Lovey Dovey Valentine, but you've been married 3 times and you hate the name Valentine, so you want to use your newest name. Sorry! It doesn't work that way. Whether you hate the name or not, it is absolutely necessary that you use what is on the birth certificate. Anyway, let's continue: Lovey breaks down to 3+6+4+5+7=25 which reduces further to 2+5=7. Dovey reduces to 4+6+4+5+7=26 which then becomes 2+6=8, and finally Valentine reduces to 4+1+3+5+5+2+9+5+5=39 which then reduces to 3+9=12... AHA! we must reduce again because it is not a master number. So, 1+2=3. Now, you add all three totals together 7+8+3=18 reduced down it is 1+8=9. And 9 is your Destiny number! How easy is that?
